Pulsar is providing transport advice on a residential scheme on a narrow strip of land adjacent to a railway embankment. The site is close to Raynes Park station in London and currently contains overgrown vegetation and private parking, which would be replaced by a single house and an apartment block containing 7 flats.
The scheme involves the removal of existing pavement parking and its re-provision within the site, thereby significantly improving the pedestrian environment in the area. The scheme (designed by And Architects) represents an excellent example of utilising constrained sites within highly accessible locations.
Pulsar prepared a Transport Scoping Note and were involved in pre-application discussions with the London Borough of Merton, before preparing a Transport Statement to accompany a planning application. The scheme was approved by the London Borough of Merton Planning Committee in December 2020, subject to a Section 106 Agreement.
