Pulsar provided transport advice to support a planning application for the refurbishment and extension of an existing community centre in Barking, London.
The proposals involved a new 662 m² community theatre featuring a recording suite, staff offices, dressing rooms and gallery for 35-year-old local charity, Studio 3 Arts. On a transport level, the proposals involved replacing the existing car parking area with a high-quality landscaped area, closure of the existing vehicular site access and increased cycle parking.
Pulsar worked with Citizens Design Bureau and produced the necessary highway plans as well as a Transport Statement to support the planning application. Planning consent has been secured and construction is due to start on site in January 2021.
