Pulsar has been providing highways and transport advice to Tide Construction for a mixed use scheme on a prominent site within Lewisham Town Centre.
The scheme involves the demolition of the existing retail building and the construction of two buildings of 20 storeys and 35 storeys in height comprising non-residential floorspace at ground floor level, 67 (C3) self-contained housing units and 758 (Sui Generis) student housing beds on the upper floors. The scheme would be car-free with basement level cycle parking. A key feature of the development is a new public square that could potentially provide a focal entrance point to a new Bakerloo Line station at Lewisham.
Pulsar liaised extensively with the highway authorities (including Transport for London) and prepared the Transport Assessment, Travel Plans, Construction Logistics Plan and Delivery & Servicing Plan to accompany the planning application.
The scheme was approved at the London Borough of Lewisham’s Planning Committee in July 2019 and was consented following the completion of the Section 106 Agreement. Pulsar is currently assisting Tide with discharging various planning conditions and the Section 278 Highway design process.
