Pulsar provided transport planning advice to support a new Aldi store in the Millbrook area of Southampton, which was consented at the end of 2021 by Southampton City Council (SCC).
The approved scheme involved the demolition of an existing retail unit and its replacement by a new c.20,000 sqft Aldi store off Auckland Road. The scheme includes improved pedestrian access arrangements into and within the site, additional cycle parking and improvements to the local pedestrian / cycle network.
Pulsar were initially involved in the transport scoping discussions with SCC and then subsequently supported the planning application by preparing a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan. Furthermore, Pulsar assisted the client in various post-submission and Section 106 discussions with the highway authority including preparation of a Car Park Management Plan.
