Whetstone Sorting Office, Barnet

GM London has secured planning approval at London Borough of Barnet’s Planning Committee for a mixed use scheme in Whetstone. The application involved the demolition of the vacant sorting office building and construction of a five-storey building consisting of 41 new homes as well as non-residential uses at ground floor level.

In highway terms, the site access will be repositioned along the site frontage and will lead to a basement car park consisting of 33 car spaces and 63 cycle parking spaces. The site is in an area of good public transport accessibility with bus stops directly outside the site and a London Underground station within 400 metres walk distance.

Pulsar provided transport advice from an early stage and participated in the design process as well as in pre-application discussions with Barnet’s highways officers. A Transport Statement and Travel Plan were produced to support the application and Pulsar is currently assisting GM London with discharging various planning conditions.
