Kamran Haider (Managing Director of Pulsar) acted as a witness of fact for Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd in a recent High Court case. Whitacre Management Ltd (the “Claimant”) were seeking damages against Sainsbury’s for the termination of a contract (in 2015) relating to the potential development of a Sainsbury’s store in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire.

Kamran provided evidence to the Royal Courts of Justice in October 2019 on various matters including the overall Section 278 detailed design process and the course of action taken by Sainsbury’s highways consultants during the design process.

The judgment was released in February 2020 and the claim against Sainsbury’s was dismissed. In the judgment, the High Court Judge noted that:

“Mr Haider….was a thoughtful, careful and sensible witness…..I was impressed with his evidence”
